John Eldredge

I write for the same reasons I read—for pleasure, for wonder, but mostly to sort things out. We all feel the riddle of the earth, as Chesterton pointed out, and the task of every human being is to sort things out—their life, human existence, the life of God, the story of the world. Whatever I’m reading—from Moby-Dick to Isaiah—I am looking for the answers to the riddle. I hope to do the same in my writing.
