Caedmon Audio, the first company to sell audio versions of works by writers such as Dylan Thomas, e. e. cummings, and Robert Frost, is founded. Purchased by Harper & Row in 1987, Caedmon goes on to win multiple Grammy awards, and continues to embrace the latest recording technology from LPs and cassettes to CDs, MP3s, and streaming.
