The first romance novel I ever read was Margaret Way’s Red Cliffs of Malpara. I was blown away by the beautiful descriptions of Australia and by Margaret herself, who immediately became my favorite author. That was in 1979. Many things have changed since then, but Margaret is still my favorite author and, I am delighted to add, my friend! I was inspired by the way she drew her heroes. I hope I have learned from her example to write about heroes in a way that portrays them as three-dimensional people. I am so happy to work for Harlequin (and now HarperCollins) and to wish you a very happy 200th anniversary! Love, Diana Palmer
