It has been said that only two things helped survivors of the Holocaust: 1) massage and 2) telling their stories. If you don’t have anyone to massage you, do yoga. If you don’t have anyone to listen, write your story. Writing and yoga (or dance) are how I’ve dealt with pain for many years of my life. Writing has also helped me find a community of likeminded people. Some say that my books help them feel less alone in the world. So, I write to heal and hopefully help heal others in some way.
