Gordon Korman

I read to be astounded by other writers’ ideas. When one of my novels comes out, I always cherish the first time I see it on the shelf, surrounded by the amazing variety of new books that season. For so long I’ve been trapped in the restricted space of my little story, and suddenly I’m reminded of the vast universe of imagination we all inhabit. It’s simultaneously thrilling and humbling. And it reminds me that, while I’m lucky to be a writer, I’m even luckier to be a reader.
