Stuart MacBride

I write because I love to read. I love the way a good book can worm its way into my brain and make the characters and the world they inhabit real. And the thought that I can do that too—create people and places that will inhabit thousands of other brains—is a heady one. That readers all over the world will let me climb inside their heads and play with the contents . . . Now that’s a rush. Plus I get to spend most days in my pyjamas, playing make-believe with people who don’t exist and my cat (who does).
