I read because I dream of having a super power. I want to know what people think, not what they say they think or what they want people to think. So much of life is lived internally. I’m rarely interested in what people say. Much more is gained from what they don’t say. With close-third or first-person narration, I can get inside a character’s head and understand each motivation, each action, each word (spoken or not). I also dream of sprouting wings, but that has nothing to do with reading so shall be dealt with elsewhere.
