I read to transport myself. To escape my own reality and share someone else’s for a while. To enlighten myself, to distract myself, to relax, to escape, to enjoy. I read to challenge my intellect and be emotionally moved, and also because there isn’t a better way I’d rather spend some quiet time than in a comfy chair with a good book in hand.
