Reading has always been a safe place for me. It wasn’t until the issues in my life became bigger than I could manage that I learned writing could be a safe place, too. Now, that is one of my goals when I create: not just to make a world that I want to exist in for a little while, but one where someone else struggling to get through the day could stop and rest, too.
